I, Aniket Tekawade, am a Postdoctoral Researcher at Argonne National Laboratory’s Energy Systems Division. My research interests include experimental diagnostics of combustion, auto-ignition and fuel sprays. Presently, I am part of a group that utilizes the synchrotron x-ray source at Argonne (Advanced Photon Source) to investigate near-nozzle and internal flows in diesel / gasoline injectors. Phase contrast imaging provides insights into the multi-phase flow inside injectors, while quantitative techniques including x-ray radiography and tomography provide density profiles in the flow-field.
Previously, I obtained my PhD (2017) and taught a year as lecturer (2017-18) in the department of Mechanical, Aerospace & Nuclear Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY, USA. My research there included experiments to investigate auto-ignition in a shock-tube and liquid sprays utilizing pressure-based as well as optical diagnostics.
In my free time, I climb rocks and eat good food.
